NEW PARTNER FOR HEAT TREATMENT OF PARTS

A trial batch of gear wheels for engine lathes manufactured by StankoMashStroy was heat-treated (hardened) using the laser equipment of ThermoLaser company.

An innovative enterprise from Vladimir city is a leading Russian developer and manufacturer of industrial laser systems for thermal hardening, surfacing and welding.

For test hardening were presented the gears made of structural alloy steel with a high chromium content (40X)

Deputy of general director for production at StankoMashStroy Sergey Mityasov, who personally visited the TermoLaser enterprise in Vladimir city notified - “The result exceeded of all our expectations. The surface hardness of the gears was about 55-57 HRC units after processing".

An agreement about the heat treatment of a trial batch of gears by laser heat hardening was reached at the meeting with CEO of the company.

As a result of rapid heating of the treatment zone above the phase transition temperature and subsequent cooling due to heat removal, a specific highly dispersed structure is formed in the surface layer, having a microhardness 2-4 times higher than the hardness of the base.
