COMPUTER TECHNOLOGIES IN MECHANICAL ENGINEERING

Design engineer of "StankoMashStroy" company Dmitry Shalakhaev became a participant of All-Russian Olympiad on Computer Technologies in Mechanical Engineering, which was held at Samara State Technical University. According to experts, it is considered one of the most prestigious Russian CAD competitions.

Due to pandemic protocols event took place remotely on Zoom platform.

Olympiad program included solving problems in design, engineering calculations and development of control programs for CNC machines. Participants competed in three categories: CAD-technologies, CAM-technologies and CAE-technologies.

Dmitry Shalakhaev participated in "CAM-technologies":

"We had task to write a program for machining on a CNC lathe for a given workpiece. It took 4 hours to complete it. I did it in software product SprutCAM 14, which licensed version installed in the classroom of our enterprise."

Results of the Olympiad will be known later.
