Foreign representatives from South Korea expressed willingness to establish co-production of extremely complex 5-axis machining centers on the basis of the factory StankoMashStroy. Shon Jong Hyeon, the chairman of South Korea Machine Tool Association, held a meeting with the Governor of the region Ivan Belozertsev during a working visit to the Penza Region. The meeting was also attended by the head of the regional Cabinet Nikolai Simonov, the deputy chirman of the regional government Andrei Luzgin, chairman of the Chamber of Commerce of the Penza Region Vladimir Podobed, heads of major industrial enterprises of the region. The meeting focused on the issues of investment cooperation. The main topic of discussion was co-production of the high-tech 5-axis machines in the Penza Region.

5-axis machining centers are in high demand in the domestic market of metal machining. Although, this equipment is not produced in Russia, and deliveries from abroad stopped because of the sanctions. Establishing production of 5-axis machining centers in Russia is an urgent task in the framework of the import substitution program, crucial for economic security and independence.

The machines will be manufactured at the premises of StankoMashStroy", the leader of machine-building industry of the Penza region. StankoMashStroy’s industrial facilities allow to produce competitive high quality products from lathes to high-performance machining centers using domestic and imported parts. Russian localization of components is 20 to 50%. A significant part of components is produced on the territory of the Penza region. The launch of manufacture of 5-axis machining centers will be an important step in strengthening relations with the South Korea Machine Tool Association, as well as development of machine tool industry in the Penza Region.
