Congress of the Russian Engineering Union
About 1000 delegates from 68 regional offices of the Russian Engineering Union, representatives of federal legislative and executive authorities, the financial and business communities, civil society institutions, the heads of the Russian regions and the heads of leading industrial corporations and associations participated in the congress. The President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Vladimirovich Putin visited the event.
The President noted that economic growth demands development of the internal market, based on modern technologies, design and promotion of unique products with high added value, as well as accelerated import substitution in key industries.
The congress unanimously supported the President’s economic course and expressed their willingness to contribute to the achievement of the goals. The meeting summed up the work of the organization for 5 years; new members of executive bodies of the Russian Engineering Union were elected; the main objectives for the coming period were identified.
"Mechanical Engineering - a leading industry, which is the basis of the economy. To date, the industry is facing a strategic goal - to ensure production at the level of international countertypes, to meet domestic demand and to conquer world markets. Solving this problem requires coordination of efforts by the authorities, representatives of financial and business circles, civil society institutions, machine-building enterprises. The activities of the Russian Engineering Union is providing this communication and protecting the interests of the domestic machine builders. Only joint efforts will contribute to the successful development of the engineering industry and the revival of the Russian industry ", - said the deputy chairman of the Penza branch of the Russian Engineering Union, General Director of StankoMashStroy Oleg Kochetkov.
As a result of the сongress a number of proposals were developed. They were aimed at development of high-tech production, support of domestic producers, creation of a national system of certification and standardization of products, protection of intellectual property, development of interaction of large integrated organizations with small and medium-sized businesses, as well as the creation of jobs and providing businesses with highly qualified personnel.
